Are you planning a visit to the Cypress Hills this winter? Check out all the things to do! Cross-Country SkiingCypress Hills, Alberta offers excellent cross-country skiing opportunities during the winter season. Approximately 15 kilometers, in two separate areas, are groomed and track set for cross country skiing throughout the winter. Spring Creek Trail System offers a series of loops designed for the beginner or novice skier and the Spruce Coulee system offers trails for more experienced or novice skiers. For a complete list of cross-country trails visit our Trails page. Snowshoes are available for rent through Hidden Valley Ski Hill, located in the Park. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Ice SkatingLocal outdoor skating rink adjacent to the curling rink. SnowmobilesSnowmobiles are not allowed in the park. SnowshoeingSnowshoeing in the Cypress Hills is a wonderful way to explore the Park in the winter. Throughout the Park you will find a variety of trails. We ask that you respect the track-set cross-country ski trails (Spring Creek and Spruce Coulee loops) and utilize the other available trails. A picnic shelter and stove is located in close proximity. Winter CampingWinter camping is available at Elkwater townsite and Spruce Coulee campground (walk-in tenting).
