Fish Creek Provincial Park is a truly natural setting within an urban
area. It contains many ecosystems including white spruce forest, aspen
parkland, aquatic areas and grasslands. These provide habitat for a wide
variety of plants and animals. The park is also rich in cultural history.
Archaeological data proves the Fish Creek Valley has been used extensively
by humans for over 8000 years. To preserve and protect both the natural
and cultural features of the area, a portion of the valley was designated
a provincial park in 1975.
