Skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and winter camping are activities that draw many of us from inside our homes during the winter months. In mid-February, the town of Hinton hosts a Winter Magic Festival. One of the highlights is the ice fishing derby held in William A. Switzer Provincial Park, sponsored by the local Fish and Game Association. Choose to fish any or all of the five lakes for whitefish and/or pike, chances are good you'll be in the running for one of the many trophies.

If you're not into ice fishing, bring your cross-country skis or borrow some of our snowshoes - or, at the very least, join us for a free lunch of hotdogs and hot chocolate.
