William A. Switzer strives continuously to protect the environment while working to meet the needs of visitors.

Boating
Boats used on any water body must meet Federal Small Vessel Regulations. For the protection of swimmers, please obey all signs at boat launches or on lakes. Gas motors are permitted on Jarvis and Gregg lakes only. A 12 km / hr speed restriction is in place on Gregg Lake.

Camping
A camping permit is required for overnight camping in William A. Switzer Provincial Park. The permit holder is responsible for all actions of visitors and camping party members on the campsite.

Campfires
Campfires are permitted only in the facilities provided for that purpose. Please make sure your fire is out before you leave.

Fishing
If you are between 16 and 65 years of age, you must have an Alberta angling license to fish any Alberta waters. Seniors residing outside of Alberta must purchase an Alberta angling license. You should also be aware of the current Fishing Regulations.

Hunting
Hunting is prohibited in William A. Switzer Provincial Park.

Liquor
Liquor is allowed only within your registered campsite. If you are found in possession of liquor in washrooms, roads, beaches, picnic or other public areas, you will be subject to prosecution under the Gaming and Liquor Act.

Motor Vehicles
Only vehicles licensed for highways may be operated on roadways within provincial parks. Licensed off-highway vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles, trail bikes and snowmobiles are not permitted in William A. Switzer Provincial Park. Obey all speed limits and traffic signs.

Pets
Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and are prohibited on public beaches, in swimming areas and in public buildings.

Plants - Fossils - Rocks - Deadfall

Cutting, defacing or removing any plant, fossil or rock is prohibited. Scavenging for deadfall (firewood) is also prohibited.

Wild Animals
Do not feed or harass wildlife.
