Yes, the new Alberta Tourism Digital Assets Library is completely separate from the old system. All users will have to re-register. You can choose your own username and password.

The Alberta Tourism Digital Assets Library requires the Microsoft Silverlight add-on to work. If you are seeing the
logo it has not been installed on your computer. You can download it
here for free.
Unfortunately the Alberta Tourism Digital Asset Library's site is not compatible with Google Chrome. Please try again using Safari or Internet Explorer.
This is what you will see when you log into our system for the first time:

On the left, you see circles (collections) representing the different regions of Alberta and one for Plants and Animals.
By double clicking on the circle, you can open it up to see all of the images in that collection.

You can make the images appear larger by using the sliding scale (circled in red above). To see the location and more
information about the image, you can double click on it.

To return to the previous view, you can click on the "Close" button (circled in red above).
Hold the CTRL button (or Command for Macs) and click on the desired images.

You can also create a "shopping cart".
To order images (if you are in a collection or in the folders view), hold the CTRL button (or Command
for Macs) while clicking on multiple images. The images that you have selected will now have grey boxes around them.
You can order up to 10 images in one order. If you need more than 10 images, please place more than one
order.

To order, click and drag your selected images over to the Download Approval icon on the right hand side. You should see
a little red box following your mouse. When the box turns green, let go of the mouse and an order form will pop up
(this may take a few seconds to appear).
Please ensure that your pop-up blocker is not on, as it can prevent the order form from loading.

Your order will be reviewed by one of our library staff to ensure it meets our lending guidelines. Once your order is
approved, you will receive an email with links to download the image(s), the caption and the credit information. You
can right-click on the image name/download link and choose where on your computer to save the image.

If you would like to group your image selections together before ordering, you can create a collection (or a "shopping
cart") to store them in. This can be done from the main view or while viewing the image details. The collection will be
available even after logging-out. Click on the "Create Collection" button, which is the starburst icon that is circled in
the below image.

A pop-up will appear, asking you to name the collection (it does not matter what you name it). Then click "Create".

Your new collection will appear on the left hand side underneath the existing collections.

You can enter your collection by double clicking on it. If you would like to remove any images from the collection, you
can move your mouse over the image and click on the blue circle that appears beside it.

This will bring up a menu of options, select "Remove".

The system will ask you to confirm that you really want to remove the asset from your collection/shopping cart.

To view the images organized by activity or event rather than by region, you can change views by clicking on the
Views button and selecting "Folders".

When switching between views (from collections to folders) or between folder categories (from "Dining & Shopping"
to "Events & Festivals"), it is recommended to order the images you have selected before you switch between
folders/collections. If you do not, any images that you have selected (that have the grey box around them) will be
deselected.
If you use Microsoft Outlook, you will need to complete an extra step to activate the links in the email you receive when
your order is approved. The step will vary depending on your version of Outlook.
Microsoft Outlook 2010:
On the menu ribbon, click on the Actions button and select "View in Browser". This will open up the email in a browser
window and you can download the images as per the instructions in the email.

Microsoft Outlook 2007:
On the menu ribbon, click on the Other Actions button and select "View in Browser". This will open up the email in a
browser window and you can download the images as per the instructions in the email.

If you need help to find your version of Microsoft Outlook, please contact us.
Each request is assessed individually, based on the proposed use.
Alberta Tourism Digital Asset Library's image order system is monitored on an hourly basis, during regular business
hours,
Monday through Friday - 8:30am-4:30pm Mountain Time.
If you have placed your order within Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm Mountain Time, a
notification email will be sent, informing you of request approval or denial based upon your order information.
If you have placed your order after hours/on weekends/on holidays, you will be notified
on the next business day.
Notifications are emailed to the originating requestor's email address. For example, if you are an ad agency with numerous graphic artists working on a project - the notifications will be sent to the email address of the person who originally registered and requested the images.
Typing West Edmonton Mall in the search will tell the system to search anything with the words West, Edmonton, and Mall. To narrow down the search type the phrase in quotation marks: "West Edmonton Mall" will just show results featuring West Edmonton Mall.
Double click on any image, and you will be able to see a larger preview size and detailed information about the image.
To return to the previous view, you can click on the "Close" button (circled in red).

On the upper right hand of the page, click the highlighted button as seen in this picture.

If there was an error with your log-in process, the error indicator may appear. Usually it can be ignored, but if you
are experiencing any difficulties with the system, you can click on it for more information. If you are reporting a problem,
please include a screenshot to aid staff in determining the cause.

All of our online pictures are 300 dpi and in jpg format. They range in size up to 13" x 8" and will be delivered with watermarks removed. If you require a larger size than what is online, there may be a larger size in our inventory. Please contact us if you need any other sizes or formats.
If you are looking for images that you cannot find online, please contact us.
