The Alberta Government contributes to recreation, active living and sport directly, and through partnerships with the federal government, Alberta's municipalities, First Nation and Métis communities, post-secondary institutions, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

The Recreation and Physical Activity Division of Tourism, Parks and Recreation leads the policy and strategic work for recreation, active living and sport. The Division also provides direct services and support to the Recreation and Active Living sectors.
