Highway Signage Program

Highway Signage Program Highway Signage Program

Highway directional and way-finding signs are critical to ensuring visitors can navigate their way to attractions and essential services, such as food, gas and lodging.

Alberta's Tourism Highway Signage Program ensures a high-quality, consistent provincial highway signage system throughout the province. The program includes two broad signage categories:

  • Tourism oriented directional signage (TODS)
  • Logo signs for service businesses such as food, gas and lodging

Subsidies are available to assist tourist attraction operators to install new highway signs. Renewal fees for Tourist Oriented Directional and Community Attraction Facility signs are being waived. Additionally, those who have paid their renewal fee since September 2009 will be eligible for a rebate.

For more information call 1-866-560-SIGN (7446) or visit Sign Up Alberta website.

If you are a community or regional Visitor Information Centre provider, you can access signage opportunities through the Alberta Visitor Information Providers (AVIP) program.
